NATIONAL FINALIST ENTRY IN
IN NATIONAL ART AND FRAMING CONTEST
AT PRESS CONFERENCE

ON SEPTEMBER 6 IN MEMPHIS

MEMPHIS, TN (September 1, 2006) -- Taurus O. Perkins, a local artist and owner of Perkins Productions, has been selected as one of 10 finalists in a national art and framing contest and has been chosen to display his design at the Décor Expo showcase next weekend in Atlanta, GA. At a press conference on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, Perkins, who is a past winner of the contest, will unveil his top-rated entry for the 2006 competition. The press conference will be held at 12 Noon at the Black Business Association (BBA) office located at the Renaissance Business Center at 555 Beale Street in Memphis.
A native Memphian and member of the Black Business Association, Perkins is winner of Framerica Corporation’s 2004 Boxer® Challenge contest for his shadow box with a sports theme entitled “The King’s Eye.” Theme for the 2006 Boxer Challenge is “Take This Job…And Frame It.” The competition carries a first-place prize of $10,000.
An interior decorator as well as an artist and framer, Perkins has done work internationally-known clients, such as Michael Jordan and Three 6 Mafia. Winner of the Black Business Association’s Benny Award for Outstanding Business Professional in 2006, he is a graduate of Westwood High School and attended Memphis Arts Academy. Perkins Productions is also a member of the Regional Chamber of Commerce. ###
